Senior Software Engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates technical leadership to team
- Defines technical requirements based on business requirements
- Designs scalable and performant application architectures that meet business requirements
- Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices within department.
- Utilizes working relationships across teams within their division.
- Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 4-5 years professional experience required
- 3-5+ years of experience working as a Full Stack Java Software Developer in an Agile environment
- 3+ years experience with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, JUnit, SQL, ORM frameworks
- 2+ years experience developing applications on AWS leveraging services such as SQS, S3 in a Infrastructure as Code environment
- Strong understanding of web based application design, protocols and standards such as REST and SOAP.
- Node/JavaScript/React experience a plus!
- Experience working as a DevOps Engineer where full application lifecycle is at top of mind from development to day 2 operations such as monitoring and disaster recovery is a plus!
- Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning
- Experience developing solutions using agile methods
- Mentor for the team and department
- Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms such as AWS, Kubernetes, Containers
- Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business
- Manages own time to meet objectives
- Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design
- Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture
