Job Purpose
What does a Successful Web Engineer at Clover do?
The Point Of Sale team is dedicated to all aspects related to Order management, Inventory management, Employee management, Full-Service Dining, and more, for our merchants in the Restaurant and Retail space. We have also built an Online Ordering platform to integrate with major Online ordering providers, to support this growing need for our merchants. Our Web Engineers are tasked with improving/expanding our platform and product by developing our websites and supporting a wide range of functionality across the suite of apps we provide our merchants: online ordering, inventory management, order management, employee management, etc. Our Web Engineers work closely with Server Application Engineers, the Product Team and designers. Our engineers are pragmatic in balancing priorities and enjoy working in an iterative model where web features are released every other week. We are interested in hiring engineers who can contribute to product discussions and balance their work on several projects. Ideal candidates have a passion for creating sleek interfaces that enhance merchants' experience by providing insights into all aspects of their businesses.
In this role you will:

• Own one, or more, of the web services; add new features, resolve bugs, and refactor/ improve code base
• Identify technical requirements in product meetings and assist the business team with realistic project planning and feature development; translate product requirements into functional, maintainable, extensible software that is in-line with company objectives
• Take ownership of new products/features from development through deployment and production monitoring
• Write automated tests for new web features and update existing tests as needed
• Work with QA to develop test plans/strategies
• Help the team grow by mentoring junior developers, and do code and design reviews
• Participate in a regular on call rotation

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

• 3+ years experience with Javascript, Typescript CSS and HTML templating
• Experience with SQL knowledge
• Experience with REST APIs
• Experience with single-page apps Some experience writing tests; we use MochaJS and Selenium Experience with front end framework: React and Ember Experience with package management systems, such as NPM, Bower, etc.
• Experience with build systems: Grunt, Broccoli, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with Cypress framework for automation testing
• Exposure to CSS precompilers, such as Sass or Java Experience with back end server side development
