The Deployment and Compute group is seeking a highly motivated, software engineer to develop, enhance and maintain core enterprise-wide engineering services and tools to provide a range of CI/CD pipelines for product development teams at Autodesk. Our mission is to build 'deployment as a service' by developing best-in-class engineering services and tools that dramatically improve the velocity of product development teams at Autodesk in their ability to develop, deploy and release desktop/web/mobile applications & services while ensuring security and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, and testing of features/functions delivered via applications and services
  • Work with operations teams to ensure your applications and services are highly available and reliable
  • Hands-on software development for products that will perform at scale, be supportable and be extensible.
  • Write code that is tested, readable, and maintainable
  • Perform code reviews, evaluate implementations, and provide feedback for tool improvements
  • Engage in technical and architectural discussions and decision making to shape the future of making things
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, understand use cases and build towards a cohesive technical strategy
  • Automate processes where possible and create new technologies when needed.
  • Cross-train and mentor teammates
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems



Qualifications:

  • Developer experience (5 years)
  • Proficiency with 2 languages or more: Python, Go, Ruby, NodeJS or similar
  • Building, debugging, and operating REST APIs (3 years)
  • Software development experience: code review, refactoring, best practices, design patterns (5 years)
  • Knowledge of software engineering disciplines, test-driven development, and development methodologies
  • Production AWS experience (3 years)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently


Preferred:

  • Experience with Spinnaker and plugin development
  • Experience with containers
  • Experience working with Google Cloud, Azure
  • Experience with a backend web framework such as Django, Rails, Express+ORM, NestJS, etc.
  • Experience in Linux Systems Administration, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and troubleshooting (bash, terraform)
  • Understanding of networking and security concepts
