As a Whole Foods Market Senior Software (Workday) Engineer, you analyze and evaluate application requirements to determine appropriate infrastructure and systems software solutions. With system and user requirements in mind, designs, evaluates, codes, configures, tests, and documents applications using relevant programming language. You participate in the end-to-end SDLC; software architecture, implementation, rollout, migration, integration, testing, performance tuning, and research and development. You document procedures for deployment, maintenance, and operations. You will train and support users in infrastructure, system, and application processes and functionality. You incorporate state-of-the-art concepts and practices to ensure system functionality and continuous improvement.
​Our Workday Engineering Team at Whole Foods Market is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Workday Integrations Engineer. This person will have a deep breadth of expertise, skills, and experience to develop solutions for our Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources organizations. You will be asked to bring your knowledge of technology and Workday to solve complex problems. Be ready to demonstrate how your programs are delivered effectively on time, on budget, and with the maximum impact on the business. Identifies opportunities for enhancing the Technology organization’s capabilities to support and achieve overall business objectives. Successfully collaborates with various levels of the organization, including the executive team. Develops and oversees the execution of long-term strategies to maximize systems, applications, and infrastructure quality and efficiency. Viewed as a change agent and champion of WFM’s vision, mission, and values. Keeps current with technology and industry advances and may represent WFM with external industry boards or organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in an Agile software delivery environment on a highly collaborative Agile team
  • Develop and document requirements and functional specifications, develop test conditions, conduct acceptance testing, and implement solutions
  • Develop Workday integrations between new or existing systems, both internal and external
  • Develop Workday custom reports and enhancements
  • Develop and execute unit and system test plans
  • Drive cross-team design and development via technical leadership and mentoring
  • Help troubleshoot issues and processes, and aggressively drive toward resolutions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of programming/development experience (Java, C#, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience developing and supporting Workday Studio Integrations
  • 3+ years of strong Workday development experience using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), calculated fields, transformations, and custom reports
  • Understanding of security groups and roles and assignment of those roles
  • Understanding of system architecture in a multi-tier, multi-platform systems
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Ability to function effectively with minimal supervision in a high-demand environment
  • Well-versed in Agile development methodologies including Scrum best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong creativity, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Adapt to change effectively, always mindful of technology, business processes, and systems implications
  • A collaborative team player with patience, understanding, flexibility, and a good sense of humor

  • Ability to travel (approximately 10%)

Strong preference will be given to candidates with any of the following:

  • Experience with Workday technologies - Web Service Application Program Interface (APIs), Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) Report Writer, Cloud Connect, Business Process Framework, Configurable Security, Calculated Fields, XSLT
  • Experience with Workday’s Financial Management suite – Accounting Center, Prism, Banking & Settlements, Supplier, Supplier Accounting, Business Assets, Projects, Customer Accounts, Tax, Financial Accounting.
  • Experience with Workday’s Human Capital Management suite – Payroll, Absence, Benefits, Talent, Performance, and Recruiting
  • Experience with SOX principles and concepts
