As a Software Engineer you will be part of the team that is transforming behavior clinical applications to a modernized platform. If you ever wanted to be part of major application redesign, this is the position for you. From solution design, to development, performance tuning, acceptance test and implementation you will be and hands on agent of change.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, and code development & testing
  • Designing and implementing product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
  • Design, develop and test reusable frameworks, libraries
  • Identify problems and associated performance measurement risks
  • Use tools to measure, quantify and analyze the performance benchmark and validate with end-to-end transaction sequences/rates
  • Be innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the business
  • Expected to adapt in dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decision
  • Understand new product capabilities and decompose the implementation into specific functional changes for verification
  • Participate in Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high - quality software releases
  • Collaborate with the scrum team to meet project timelines
  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
  • Perform comprehensive testing of product distributions prior to release
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post - deployment and come up with solutions as required
  • Setup and maintain monitoring, metrics & reporting systems for fine-grained observability and actionable alerting
  • Automate the build and deployment of infrastructure
  • Taking part in a weekly 24/7 On-Call rotation
  • Building resilient and self-scaling systems
  • Educating & empowering development teams to think of reusable/sharable components when designing services

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • 2+ years of server API automation/performance engineering experience
  • Experience with performance and capacity engineering
  • Hands-on experience in development and maintenance of automation frameworks for APIs
  • Excellent understanding of RESTful APIs and related concepts
  • Solid Coding Skills in Java and/or Python


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases and database architecture
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of data models and ER diagrams
  • Ability to perform migration testing of static data and transaction data between multi cloud systems
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed with the existing codebase

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
