Chewy is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for its Fulfillment Automation Team
in Minneapolis, Boston, Bellevue, WA or Dania Beach, FL. In this role you will be a key
member of a diverse engineering team that researches, develops, tests, and
deploys scalable industrial automation, robotics, and warehouse control
system software to support the growth of Chewy’s fulfillment operations.
What You’ll Do:

You will work across a cross-functional team of hardware/robotics/software
engineers to introduce new automation technologies to Chewy's fulfillment
centers. Your team will design and develop software applications that
integrate with advanced industrial automation and robotic systems. This is a

Design and develop software for a warehouse control system
Partner with internal software teams to integrate with automation,
robotics, and warehouse systems
Work with internal operations stakeholders to obtain system feedback
and measure system performance
Develop modular, highly available, secure, performant, reliable, and
scalable production-ready systems using the latest technologies
available
Develop functional software specifications, design verification plans,
and functional/integration test procedures
Test concepts and features through simulators, emulators, and with
live equipment
Leverage and champion best practices that enable automated test and
continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
 
What You’ll Need:

Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering or related field) or
equivalent work experience
5+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of experience leading the design (data structures, algorithms,
designing for performance, reliability, and scalability) and development
of new software programs
Ability to program in Java or other related modern programming
language
Experience with cloud native technology stack (AWS), and service-
oriented architecture using microservices
Experience designing scalable RESTful services and APIs
Experience with messaging and event-based patterns
Understanding of CI/CD pipeline including containerization,
configuration management, and deployment
Ability to travel as needed

Bonus (if applicable):

Master's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering or related field)
Experience designing and building software for industrial automation
and robotic systems
Experience with AWS IoT
