What you'll do at HEB:
Our Platform Engineering Productivity and Collaboration Team is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to help grow and evolve our Digital productivity and collaboration technology stack. This team is responsible for making work life simpler, more pleasant, and more productive through automation, integration, and world class end-user customer support.
Who You Are

  • Demonstrate effective use and knowledge of productivity technologies such as: Jira, Confluence, and Trello
  • Demonstrate effective use, knowledge, and instrumentation of monitoring and alerting technologies such as Splunk, New Relic, and Datadog
  • You approach work with an ownership mentality and strive to deliver consistent high-quality results and customer service.
  • Identify ambiguous requirements, providing clarity when needed.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of architectural technologies as it relates to ChatOps and service observability and are open to learning.
  • Applies critical thinking skills to solve significant productivity tool problems.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and identify system characteristics, in order to apply principles of automation to routine tasks.
  • Ability to integrate disparate systems to gain efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop processes / procedures and adapt tools to enable Digital engineering customers to self-serve.
  • Fundamental understanding of the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and details effectively and understand customer systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to Engineering, Computer Science, Microsoft Engineering certifications, or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in productivity and collaboration technologies
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development technologies (Python, Java, React, Go, etc)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in modern system observability and telemetry technologies
  • 1+ years of experience in Agile software development methodology, continuous integration and continuous deployment approaches and tools.


What You'll Do

  • Communicate with end users, gather requirements, code/configure, maintain, test, and debug configurations for new and existing service observability and telemetry use cases of basic to medium complexity.
  • Develop automation framework(s) for APIs, REST and UI following guidelines, best practices, coding standards.
  • Work with end users to identify the correct solutions based on their business requirements.
  • Support the productivity, monitoring, and alerting platforms and associated technologies
  • Manage timelines and technical documentation.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and integrate systems/components by leveraging API's to gain efficiencies.
  • Perform disaster recovery testing on supported systems.
  • Maintain a high level of support and follow through while meeting our SLA's and OLA's.
  • Complete project tasks on time and with a high degree of quality.
  • Train and mentor junior level resources.
