Role Description

We're in a phase of growth – join our team and make a difference. You'll be helping to position our breakthrough technology and accelerate our software adoption. This is a unique opportunity to be an early member of a growing software engineering team that directly impacts climate change.

This role will focus on building software and tools for market development, business operations, and field operations with greenfield software development and no existing legacy code. Initially, this could encompass a suite of unique, scalable, and mission-critical software and features for design, manufacturing, test, distribution, and service or ETL and analytics tools.

What You'll Do:

• Identify and shape opportunities to develop and improve how our science, technical, and operations teams get work done
• Design, build, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software and tools that help our users be more productive and make better decisions
• Continually work to improve team processes and capabilities, advocating for high-quality software engineering practices and outputs
• Contribute to the broader software, product, and design teams, stepping in where need be to support other groups
• Lead by example, working as a collaborative member of the software team – knowledge share, mentor, and uplift technical abilities

What You'll Bring:

• Passion for our mission, sustainability, and climate change
• Minimum 5+ years of professional software/data engineering experience
• Experience in full-stack software development with both backend and frontend (leaning towards backend)
• Proficient in Python with Flask (preferred) or Django
• AWS-stack experience and using Lambda functions (preferred)
• Experience/knowledge in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Redux (nice to have) 
• MySQL experience or similar with SQL databases, data analysis, and SQL queries
• Start-up or new software product development experience highly regarded
• Adaptable with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, blending good judgment, clear communication, and a collaborative team-player
• Bonus points for experience in batteries, scientific research, supply chain, business operations, analytics, hardware engineering, manufacturing, or IoT
