Job Description

Responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, documenting and supporting complex software applications across multiple project teams and applications. Construct, test and maintain software applications by developing complex software code that is maintainable, easy to use, and satisfies application requirements, and by developing and executing application test plans, analyzing test results and making appropriate revisions. Contribute to the planning for acceptance testing and implementation of new software. Provide support to internal users and support staff. Investigate application incidents for missing or incorrect functionality, and assess incident resolution and estimate application changes before applying resolutions. Write technical documentation to ensure that application software components are archived in common repositories according to IT standards that accurately reflect the progression from development to implementation. Perform configuration management tasks, and tune performance of Spring batch jobs. Involves the opportunity to telecommute from within the Chicago, IL area for up to 2 days per week, as feasible.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or a related quantitative field plus five (5) years of experience in software development/engineering using agile methodology, Big Data and cloud technologies. Five (5) years of experience required utilizing Java, Spring and Spring boot. Three (3) years of experience required using CI/CD tools, including Jenkins or Chef; and three (3) years of experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as Snowflake, Impala, or Hive. Involves the opportunity to telecommute from within the Chicago, IL area for up to (2) days per week, as feasible.
