Talend has immediate opportunities for a Distributed Systems Software Developer who wants their lines of code to have significant, measurable and positive impact for users, the company's bottom line and the industry.

 

Talend is looking for someone with experience with solving real-world data management challenges; a strong understanding of how to architect solutions that are highly available, and a proven ability to design, develop, and optimize the core back-end systems. This role will encompass architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality. In addition, we embrace total ownership of systems and end to end responsibility for operating and monitoring the components we write. Our users count on our platform to be highly reliable, lightning fast, supremely secure, and to run their business-critical applications.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the full-stack development of applications - Leverage best practices to produce high-quality software utilizing cutting-edge technology.
  • Be a Technical Lead - Take point on projects by tasking out requirements, mentoring other developers, and taking ownership of the product.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive transformation that improves system availability, resilience, and performance.
  • Be capable of driving, owning, and delivering slices of functionality on a regular cadence with business feedback loops in an agile environment/team.
  • Contribute to the design and documentation of solutions - Apply expertise to solve problems and deliver detailed and clear documentation for consumption by clients and other developers.
  • Deploy, operate, and support critical Heroku production systems.
  • Assist in debugging - Utilize appropriate tools and methodologies for identifying and solving issues within applications.
  • Engage in QA processes - Write unit tests for comprehensive code coverage, while ensuring that positive and negative cases are addressed.
  • Research, architect, implement, and help drive innovative solutions
  • Directly influence zero-touch, highly scalable, reliable services.
  • Develop automation to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support your colleagues in other teams to understand their needs and pain points and provide a high level of customer service

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Experience with most of the following programming languages/frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Loopback, Java, SQL
  • Experience with most of the following infrastructure/technologies/concepts: PostgreSQL, Heroku
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
  • REST APIs and general API design
  • In depth experience of design patterns, databases, data structures, algorithms, and API design
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Enthusiasm for learning new languages, frameworks, and skills
  • Great communication, collaboration skills, and a strong teamwork ethic
  • Experience with Agile development methodology and testing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Public cloud engineering on GCP, AWS, Alibaba and/or Azure platforms
  • Experience using SQL and/or NoSQL datastores e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
  • Experience owning and operating multiple instances of mission-critical infrastructure services including, monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications
  • Confident with Linux/Unix and Unix shell scripting

For Colorado-based candidates: The range for this role for any candidates based in Colorado will be $110,400 – 138,000. In addition to your base salary, you will also be offered a 10% bonus and benefits.
