Senior Software Engineer, Frontend - Advanced Cluster Security
About the job
The Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS) Platform team is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join us. In this role, you'll be working on web UI that helps our customers inspect and ensure the safety of their large commercial Kubernetes clusters in private, public, and hybrid clouds. Our UI team is small and gives you the opportunity to make an immediate impact on product design in how customers interact with our functionality, as well as impacting our own engineering processes. With Kubernetes adoption rapidly spreading around the world, the UI team constantly faces new challenges in creating actionable data presentations for different personas while maintaining high standards for app performance. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do
- Help guide UI functionality by planning, building, and maintaining UI functionality from sophisticated dashboards to context-aware user flows, for our ACS platform
- Collaborate with other frontend engineers, backend engineers, product managers, and designers to shape, build, and improve features and engineering tools
- Create reusable components that make it easier for engineers to build consistent and high-quality user experiences
- Own areas of the product UI and lead those implementations
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Build a personal brand and support the company brand through public speaking, technical blog posts, and open source contributions
- Work with other teams, like Sales and Support, to produce outstanding results
What you will bring
- 5+ years of frontend development experience
- Experience with current common frontend technologies and concepts, in particular, we build our UI with React, Apollo GraphQL, and Webpack, and you should be comfortable with those tools
- Solid general engineering skills, aside from any particular technology
- Enjoy collaborating on code design and rigorous code reviews
- Demonstrate experience in planning and delivering high quality, maintainable software
- Keep high standards for the quality of our user experience and are empathetic toward different kinds of users who enjoy using our UI
- Demonstrate attention to usability, performance, accessibility, and code maintainability
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
