We are looking for a passionate, experienced front-end engineer to mentor a team of Software Engineers  in predictably delivering high-quality features and enhancements. You will own specific areas of our platform and work in partnership with cross-functional colleagues across teams and departments to create an experience that delights our customers.
Who You Are: 

  • Experienced in frontend development, especially when it comes to React and GraphQL.
  • Knowledgeable of Typescript and industry standard build tooling such as Webpack.
  • Cares deeply about reusability and accessibility when building and shipping components.
  • Comfortable with agile development practices and interested in always improving processes.
  • Interested in leading and mentoring other frontend engineers.
  • Experienced with writing unit tests and working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledgeable of GraphQL best practices and experience with backend-for-frontend development.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintaining a React application with reusable components and performance best practices.
  • Participating in Seismic's larger frontend community to help drive innovation throughout the company
  • Take the lead in determining the urgency of which projects need to be worked on
  • Play a strong mentorship role by inspiring and motivating the team
  • Mentor junior team members to set them up for success, including providing support and professional development to them
  • Measure and report on your team's success, as needed
  • Manage projects and continuous- improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate planning meetings, standups, and retrospectives
  • Address impediments or blockers escalated by the team
  • Will be technically hands-on to advance improvement and innovation initiatives

What you bring to the team:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably Frontend
  • Experienced in working with agile task management (JIRA)
  • Familiar with CI/CD and working with code repositories like Github
  • Excellent technical documentation skills
  • Some experience with mentoring and leading junior team members would be a huge bonus
