The Role

Fidelity Investments has a Senior Software Engineer/Developer opening that represents an outstanding opportunity to further develop an individual's career in technology by supporting the development of customer-facing security applications and components at one of the top tier financial services companies in America.

The Workplace Security Services team is looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer/developer to contribute to developing high-quality client-facing security web applications and authorization security components. This Engineer/developer will need to work independently to analyze, research code, recommend and document technical design strategies, develop, test, and work with Environment groups to integrate and support changes from development to test to production environments.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Solid working experience on various small to large-scale projects in a complex Web Infrastructure.
  • You are a skilled programmer with testing as part of development, and work towards automation while confirming to secure coding standards. Minimum of 5-9 years software development experience expected.
  • Professional working experience with Java, Spring framework and RESTful API development with at least 2-4 years of experience working on Spring based projects.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Karate, Selenium and jUnit preferable.
  • Experience working in a SOA infrastructure preferable. Hands on experience working with webservices SOAP or REST (preferred).
  • Familiar with Modern Rich User Interface frameworks Angular, Backbone.js, RXJS similar) and knowledge of client-side technologies such as JavaScript, CSS/SASS, HTML5 and JQuery
  • Good knowledge of development builds tools Git, Maven, Jenkins
  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Experience with Agile Methodology a plus
  • Ability to quickly understand how existing infrastructure works and recommend designs to address changes. Document technical alternatives and recommend strategy.
  • Supporting the team to identify, resolve and address issues impacting environments.
  • You bring excellent communication skills, establish relationships with team members and product leads, providing progress and status updates to all levels within the organization.
  • Provide high quality work within the Agile software delivery methodology.
  • Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willing and able to work with various technologies and programming languages running on Linux, Windows.
  • Cloud experience will be an added advantage - Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
  • Collaborating in an autonomous team, owning all aspects of delivery (Coding, Quality, DevSecOps)
  • Being an excellent teammate developing/deploying software in a fast-paced and highly flexible environment
  • Continued focus on improving test coverage, release velocity and production health
  • Exercising operational expertise in a team, targeting Engineering and DevOps excellence
  • Forever learning and growing your skills to be an active contributor to a well-rounded team

The Team

The Workplace Security Services team is part of the Workplace Customer Protection Center of Excellence and supports protecting thousands of employers and millions of participants. The team develops client-facing cybersecurity applications that help us win and retain institutional clients, as well as Authorization, B2B Security and Single Sign On infrastructure software components that are the backbone for many of Fidelity's web business applications including NetBenefits, PlanSponsor WebStation, and FocusPoint.
