Senior Software Engineer, Core Product

As a member of the Core Product team, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing features that improve the reliability, simplicity, and performance of our products. You will have the opportunity to work across our stack developing software that spans from device drivers and routing code all the way up to our distributed, cloud-hosted backend. As a Senior Engineer you will:
Participate and lead in the design and development of platform and system level software/firmware for Meraki products.
Collaborate with engineers across product teams to architect features that delight our customers.
Mentor junior developers in the art of software engineering.
Work with Product Management to incorporate customer feedback/ideas into future product plans.
Drive debugging of issues when things don't go as planned..
You are an ideal candidate if you:
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree..
Have 6+ years of software engineering experience
Have 3+ years of experience writing production code in C/C++.
Expertise in developing Linux user space code, knowledge of memory and IPC mechanisms.
Have strong networking foundational knowledge (LANs, routing, switching, wireless)
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
The ability to work and collaborate across multiple product lines and technology stacks.
Bonus points for:
Expertise in networking, including TCP/IP(v4, v6) networks, Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing, Spanning Tree, Multicast, QoS, 802.1x, DNS, DHCP, ARP
Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and/or Redux
Experience developing Linux kernel space code.
Passion to improve code, implement reusable design patterns, and use industry best coding practices.
