Position Overview

Autodesk Construction Solutions is looking for a senior software engineer to help us meet the world's rapidly expanding construction needs. As a member of the Power Processing team, you'll be working to improve productivity and outcomes across the construction lifecycle. We need someone who can help build and extend machine learning powered services to to connect document management workflows in transformative ways. Our customers are building some of the most challenging construction projects in the world. They need our help to get more done, in less time, with less risk.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as a member of a highly skilled and motivated agile development team
  • Contribute to software design and architecture by leveraging cloud design patterns and injecting your cloud expertise into the entire development lifecycle
  • Be involved with all aspects of software development, working to create and maintain the most reliable, secure, performant, and high throughput service for our customers by leveraging cloud technology
  • Collaborate with software architects, product designers, product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to iteratively transform high-level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to consumers incrementally and continually
  • Contribute to improvements in the processes and deliverables that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team in responding to customer and business needs
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers. Also, Document and present your ideas and solutions accurately and thoroughly
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to support the systems in the production environment
  • Enable other feature teams to build upon our foundational solutions



Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of professional software development experience
  • You have a deep understanding of object-oriented design and at least one modern backend framework. Our stack is majority in Python
  • Strong practical experience building RESTful Web Services and Micro-services
  • Experience in professional-grade practices around developer testing - unit testing, end-to-end testing, and test-driven development experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capability to work on complex systems
  • Team player - you love to teach others about cool new tricks you have learned and absorb tips and tricks from developers; love solving problems as a team across platforms, and are enthusiastic about synchronous collaboration in addition to heads-down work
  • Experience productizing and tuning non-trivial machine learning models beyond what you might find in a simple Intro to ML course



Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with OCR pipelines and/or related deep learning techniques in object detection, classification, etc.
  • Hands-on experience working with Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes
  • Interest in mentoring and technical leadership - in this role, you'll have the opportunity to help drive the technical direction of critical aspects of our products
  • Passionate about open source technologies
  • Having domain knowledge of the construction industry (or other areas of AEC) and a strong user-centered approach to one's work
