In this role you will contribute to a critical and highly-visible function within the Esper business. You will be given the opportunity to autonomously deliver the technical direction of the service, and the feature roadmap. You will work with extraordinary talent to deliver end to end features, improve product quality and be a technical leader. What You'll Do

  • Improve Esper Platform by planning, recommending, and executing strategic projects
  • Create standards, guidelines, sample projects, demos to influence engineering teams to write stable, secure, maintainable, and quality code
  • Communicate with engineering teams across multiple time zones to drive and coordinate changes
  • Write crisp, clear, and structured architecture, workflow, and usage documentation
  • Deliver large projects with zero customer disruption
  • Objectively assess new technologies, tools, frameworks, and design patterns for adoption into Esper Platform
  • Bring a shift left attitude to problem-solving by identifying and solving problems during ideation, design, and prototyping phases
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert(SME) for the Cloud Team

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ YOE
  • Hands-on experience in working with all parts of the stack
  • Experience with managing deployments and creating automation workflows on at least one public cloud
  • Experience in writing integration with external systems like API’s, DB, message queue etc
  • Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining scalable distributed systems
  • Experience in driving engineering best practices for efficient software development like coding standards, review guidelines, build processes and automation
  • Experience in collaborating with the Product team to gather feedback to drive technical decisions
  • Customer and requirements driven approach to problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing an application (or part of it) on any cloud provider e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure etc
  • Experience in database design for non-trivial domain objects
  • Experience in defining and driving success metrics for a product/feature
  • Knowledge of Android ecosystem and/or experience in developing Android Applications
