We seek an energetic Senior Software Developer with solid experience in enterprise software development to work on our mission-critical health care imaging application. The ideal candidate has a computer science background and is eager to lead or work alongside some of the most talented team members in the industry in a fully agile software development process. As part of our team, you will work on our world-class medical device while adhering to the highest quality standards and challenging scalability requirements. Additionally, as our teams work to migrate our PACS application to the AWS cloud, you will be able to participate in the journey and learn from some of the top Architects in the industry!

As a senior software developer on the PACS Backend team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Intelerad's products. The ideal candidate should possess a keen mind for solving tough problems with pragmatic solutions, partnering effectively with various team members along the way. You will work on new feature development and performance and scalability optimizations for the existing enterprise services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of major features of Intelerad’s products

• Apply professional design and development best practices

• Participate in project scoping, requirements gathering, and time estimation

• Strive to complete your deliverables according to requirements and within the time estimates

• Document your work appropriately (requirements, designs, code, training information, etc.)

• Understand the constraints of operating in a regulated development environment

• Lead in the improvement of and adherence to Intelerad’s policies, procedures, and practices

• Balance maintenance responsibilities with project deliverables.

• Provide management with accurate and timely data regarding task progress

• Provide training to new team members and the different support teams.

• Stay current with developments in your discipline and share with the team your knowledge and promote opportunities for growth and improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent skills and practical industry experience

• 5+ years professional experience developing commercial software using Java

• Highly motivated to excel and team-oriented

• Proven ability to be structured, organized and detail-oriented

• Experience writing unit tests and e2e tests

• Knowledgeable about building secure, scalable & resilient web applications is an asset

• Ability to work both independently and in an Agile team-oriented and collaborative environment

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Functional knowledge of Linux

• Strong troubleshooting techniques

• Experience with distributed version control systems

• Creative thinker and practical problem solver

• Committed to continual skills growth

• Familiarity with our industry’s standards (e.g., DICOM, HL-7, etc.)

• Experience with a broad range of Java technologies (e.g., JNI, JDBC, etc.)

• Perl and/or shell scripting

• PostgreSQL and/or Sybase ASE

• Network applications (client/server)

• Familiarity with git and Jenkins.

• Knowledge of AWS services.
