Software Developer (.Net)

The Fiserv Observability team is building solutions that improve visibility into the customer generated traffic across thousands of services. We are on an exciting journey to improve observability of all services and improve the customer experience by using the data. As a senior-level application
developer, you'll have the opportunity to solve the complex challenges of distributed scale within a logging and metrics environment, while using your expertise in development to build software that integrates it all. You will also be build and support ad-hoc software that drives our business through
compliance, interoperability, and integrations.

Position Overview
The Global Tools Development team aims to build the next generation data stream processing services that will profoundly impact how Fiserv product teams and businesses obtain data on a near-real time basis in a reliable and scalable fashion. Additionally, the team is accountable for developing and maintaining software that spans integrations between mainframe and distributed systems, CI/CD, Batch processing job monitoring, elevated access control, and incident communications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee process for technical issue escalation and prioritize technical • issue resolution
  • Responsible for technology architecture design, user coordination and implementation of
  • business initiatives for supported applications
  • Leverage skills across Applications Development area to provide technical oversight
  • across systems and applications
  • Communicate internal and external departmental interdependence as well as cross product and cross project
  • Resolve issues using in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within applications development
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business processes, system processes, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Contribute to planning, formulation of procedures, on-call support and backlog
  • management
  • Develop new applications to support our business. Maintain existing through support, small enhancements, and disaster recovery planning/execution


Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
  • Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
  • Extensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented design
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills along with clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Strong technical leader with years of experience in .NET/C#/ASP.NET app development and integration with a variety of data processing and persistence technologies
  • Experiencing in web services design and implementation with .NET Core - REST, SOAP,
  • service definition (Swagger/OpenAPI)
  • Data exchange formats like JSON, XML, RDF
  • Knowledge of RDBMS and NO-SQL databases
  • Testing concepts (TDD, BDD) and frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, Nunit)
  • Familiarity in container technologies (Docker, Tanzu) and supporting frameworks
