Senior Software Developer (Cloud)

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer Engineer to join our growing team to assist in designing and developing our cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership and problem-solving skills and a knowledge of industry best practices. The primary task will be leading a team of skilled developers in architecting and developing high-availability, resilient, and scalable cloud services and data solutions. Experience with AWS or a similar cloud provider is highly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead a team of software developers that create high availability and scalable cloud services for IoT devices that include cameras, lighting, thermostats, audio and more
• Mentor junior developers
• Ensure best practices are followed and modeled for others
• Collaborate with multiple groups to gather product and software requirements for delivering high quality products
• Work side-by-side with peers across the Engineering team to triage bugs and troubleshoot issues
• Design, implement, and support connections and services between multiple systems

Qualifications

NECESSARY AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated ability in architecting solutions for highly available cloud services
• Experience leading a team of developers
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with project managers to meet project deliverables/milestones and with QA engineers to ensure high quality solutions
• Experience developing applications hosted on top of AWS or other similar Cloud Platforms
• Experience building high performance data access layers on top of either a SQL or NoSQL database
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Solid CS fundamentals, fluent in multi-threaded, asynchronous programming, strong inclination for architecting at scale
• Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
• Knowledge of javascript and associated toolsets / frameworks
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
