About the role:
CoreWeave's Conductor team is searching for a software engineer to join the client applications team.
We’re looking for someone with experience writing artist tools for DCCs such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Clarisse, 3dsMax, Katana, and Adobe products, and to take ownership of some of these integrations.
This position will coordinate with other team members to contribute design ideas and ensure a coherent experience across all customer-facing applications. You will respond directly to customers about production workflow issues when our first line of support elevates tickets, and contribute to documentation and tutorials for the tools you own.
We are headquartered in Roseland, NJ and have a location in Brooklyn, NY. This role can be hybrid or remote.
Responsibilities include:
- Design new features based on internal discussions, customer feedback, and your own knowledge of industry trends.
- Coordinate with our cloud backend team in the design of APIs focused on the customer requirements.
- Ensure plugins and 3rd party renderers are supported where there’s demand.
- Identify opportunities to simplify the customer experience by removing redundant features.
- Write readable code with tests and strive to improve the quality of your own and legacy code through refactoring.
- Build and release tools compatible with multiple host versions and platforms.
- Troubleshoot production scenes and determine the best action to mitigate repeat issues.
- Keep customer-facing and internal documentation up to date.
Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are some qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. If a lot of this describes you, we’d love to talk.
- Experience with Python programming, testing, and debugging
- At least one year of production experience in a VFX, animation, or motion graphics environment
- Experience with common CG applications, e.g. Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Clarisse, 3dsMax, Katana, and Adobe products

- Experience with web technologies, (HTTP, NodeJS, React)
- Experience with cloud computing (GCP, AWS)
