Job Description Responsible for the availability, performance, change management, observability, capacity management, and continuous improvement of the Cloud Storage Product Family within Global Technology Infrastructure of JPMorgan Chase.
This SRE position will manage and maintain application services for Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud Storage Software Management products which are integral to Distributed Computing and Cloud based requirements of applications and customers.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs and delivers software to automate manual operational work
  • Supports a customer focused, team-based culture that is agile and proactive
  • Participate in Sprint and Kanban based Agile Methodologies to not only work on strategic initiatives to reduce toil and increase observability, but solving the most critical day to day customer issues.
  • Learns, integrates, and evangelizes industry best practices, patterns for troubleshooting and blameless post-mortems
  • Partners with development teams throughout the life cycle for building reliable system from the start. Be Strategy and Design Focused.
  • Delivers solutions in support of better service level objectives.
  • Designs self-healing and resiliency patterns
  • Provides guidelines/patterns and establishes proper metrics for building highly scalable, reliable, high performing complex distributed and data intensive systems
  • Strategizes best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end to end flow monitoring and noiseless alerting with proper telemetry


Skills

  • Embrace experimentation based fail fast culture and be a creative problem solver.
  • Must possess insane curiosity when presented a problem and be able to triage and troubleshoot root cause across complex software and infrastructure platforms. Be data and metric driven.
  • Be driven to create a collaborative, diverse and inclusive culture with a team mindset.
  • Expert in multiple technology stacks with designing, coding, testing and delivering software
  • Experience building and supporting scale out, highly resilient and secure software web applications with millions of requests and users.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to build teamwork and partnership across stakeholder teams
  • Strong experience and technical skills in developing and managing APIs, Microservices, distributed databases such as Cassandra, Cockroach, Oracle, event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
  • Knowledge of distributed tracing methodologies in a micro service architecture.
  • Proficient in modern programming languages, such as Python and Go.
  • Capable of working in Agile mode and proficient in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Have knowledge or experience with building application in public cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)


Experience

  • Expert with a proven track record in delivering technology solutions for 3+ years
  • Proficient in applying software engineering and development principles to production management is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in reducing toil using automation.
