Job Description As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and reducing work through automation. You'll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment, you'll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As an SRE, you'll be focused on running better production applications and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work
  • Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents
  • Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
  • Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives
  • Design self-healing and resiliency patterns , troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents
  • Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions
  • Coach or manage teams as applicable
  • Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed
  • As a primary point of escalation for the Site Reliability Engineering, there will be direct contact with application teams. Excellent communication and ability to build and maintain the relationship is essential.
  • This role requires someone who is quick learner, detail oriented with the experience of working efficiently and effectively in a global distributed environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an software engineering discipline
  • Advanced understanding of application monitoring stack (Logs, Events Metrics & Alerts) and ability to visualize and setup end-to-end observability (Infrastructure and Application components).
  • Strong experience in using industry standard monitoring tools (AppDynamics, APICA, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana etc.)
  • Experience in deploying applications to cloud platforms (Kubernetes, CloudFoundry preferable)
  • Experience in using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools. Build and Release skills using Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Groovy, Git, Jenkins etc.
  • Experience in working with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet etc.
  • Good SQL skills and experience on databases.
  • Experience in Resiliency patterns (Scalability, Pave/Repave), Self-healing, Chaos Engineering, Performance Monitoring, Continuous performance improvements .
  • Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concept (SLO, SLIs & Error Budget)
  • Proficient in one of programming languages (Java, Python, Scripting)
  • Knowledge of Web Services - Apache, Tomcat, SOAP, REST
  • Experience of working in Agile Methodology
  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms
