Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer with design experience to join our new product development team. You will develop and enhance our existing and next generation industrial control products. These products include Programmable Logic Controllers, I/O Products, Communication and HMI devices. You will play a key role in all phases of product development including requirements definition, project planning, execution, product verification and validation, and release to production. You will work on a team comprised of engineers across multiple disciplines, project managers, product marketing, manufacturing and quality organizations to bring our product roadmaps to life. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of high-speed digital design experience encompassing printed circuit board, module and system level design
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, signal integrity, both single ended and differential interface technology and power integrity
  • Hands on experience with simulation and analysis tools from Mentor Graphics (e.g. HyperLynx LineSim, BoardSim, DRC) or equivalent, Analog High-Speed Simulator (e.g. Synopsis HSPICE) and 3D RF Simulator (e.g. Ansys HFSS)
  • Experience modeling and simulating high speed I/O, PCB interconnects, connectors and package characteristics in both an IBIS and SPICE environment.
  • Experience with PCB stack-up design, IBIS models, DDR memory, 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet
  • Ability to devise multiple solutions to accommodate product constraints
  • Hands on experience with lab equipment such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, TDR and VNA for validation
  • Familiarity modelling and analyzing power distribution networks
  • Experience troubleshooting signal behaviors
  • Works with architecture and design teams to evaluate design tradeoffs for design optimization considering performance, cost and manufacturability requirements
  • Develops methods and procedures for Signal Integrity team
  • Collaborates with product design team and coordinates Signal Integrity activities
  • Communicates project status, concepts and issues and matches the message to the audience
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (e.g. PI planning, sprint planning, dependency coordination, working with Agile Teams using Scrum or Kanban)
  • Confidence driving design decisions and being the owner for SI/PI/EMC contributions as part of a much larger engineering team.
  • Ability to identify, define and establish process improvement opportunities to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of all work and projects assigned.
  • Project leadership to assure completion of designs and analysis within budget and time constraints
  • Experience leading 3rd party engineering partners
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English.
