Job Description

As an Senior Security Engineer, your primary focus will be to enhance AIR’s security stance. The IT Security Engineer must possess strong analytical and communication skills; assess client needs against security concerns; resolve technical and procedural information security risks.

Responsibilities include implementation and support of our security suite of tools including but not limited to vulnerability scanners, proxies, firewalls, SIEM and end point protection. An ability to collaborate with multi-discipline teams to investigate and remediate incidents as well as experience implementing cloud security controls.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement and support security tools.
  • Capacity for continual learning and ability to absorb new paradigms.
  • Work with State-of-the art and cutting edge technologies in cybersecurity.
  • Work with architecture teams to understand enterprise solutions and impacts of security controls.
  • Facilitate and help design compensating controls when needed.
  • Experience reviewing logs, scripting tasks, or creating structured queries/regex searches.
  • Perform control testing and other risk management activities.
  • Provide information in response to assessments and audits.
  • Leverage SIEM platform by creating and executing search queries, dashboards and alerts to identify threats and assist in investigations.
  • Experience troubleshooting and/or securing computer systems and networks.
  • Monitor security platforms' health for errors, misconfigurations, or performance alerts.
  • Monitor alerts, detections, or other indicators of compromise/attack from a variety of information security solutions.
  • Assess client needs against security concerns and articulates issues and potential risks to management.
  • Investigate security events generated from enterprise systems including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS), Anti-malware and Anti-virus systems, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Investigate, contain, eradicate, and/or escalate security detections as appropriate. Document and generate reports of detections and response actions for review by management and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate security risks and identify and define compliance strategies in accordance with policies and standards.
  • Communicate with multiple departments and levels of management to resolve technical and procedural information security risks.
  • Serve as a resource to the organization in the realm of information security by maintaining dedication to continuous learning and growth
  • Stay abreast of current security threats and security technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in IT security and 5+ years of combined IT and security work experience with a broad range of exposure to systems analysis, application development, networking, systems administration.
  • Knowledge of Splunk.
  • Knowledge of cloud security. 
  • Ability to manage demands of internal and external customers through phone, email and process requests
  • Strong organizational skills to manage fast paced and demanding requests in a defined service level
  • Knowledge of data security fundamentals and best practices with prior responsibilities of protecting information assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with IT Governance practices and processes, and solid business acumen.
