TL;DR 

In this role, you will be responsible for all things security related in the application. As we look to lay some of the foundation for SOC2 compliance, this role will necessitate a background in compliance and observability. You will be responsible for implementing our roadmap as it relates to: privacy, security, availability, process integrity & confidentiality.

What you will own & improve:

• Engineering, implementing and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.
• Identifying and defining system security requirements as they relate to the software as well as the infrastructure.
• Training the team on best practices and policies necessary for the continued compliance of our company with cyber security principles.

What you already know:

• You have hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• You have experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
• You’re up to date with the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
• You are familiar with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.

Tech Stack:

• We do not require that you know every technology within our stack, only a willingness and ability to learn.

Required Technical Skills:

• Deep familiarity with the OWASP top 10 application security risks and strategies to mitigate each of them
• Deep understanding of Rails and the underlying strategies that the framework uses to enforce security
• Experience setting up automated and manual penetration testing environments
• Bonus Points: Worked directly with a CISO in leading a company towards SOC2 compliance
• Bonus Points: Worked on a Blue Team in the past
