Senior Reliability Engineer
Microsoft Cloud Critical Environment team is looking for a Reliability Engineering/Technical Program Manager who is creative, talented and experienced with a strong technical background and expertise in datacenter electro-mechanical power and cooling and related health monitoring system. You will collaborate with Datacenter Design Engineers, Availability and Operation partners, Data Scientist, and other engineering disciplines to develop solutions and continuous improvements in elevating the availability of datacenter critical environment. This role will require the candidate to both play technical leadership as well as to program manage key initiatives and engage with multiple cross-functional teams. A strong skill set covering engineering analysis, problem solving, program management, communication and internal/external partner engagement is required.ResponsibilitiesThe specific job responsibilities include:
- Owning the technical program management of reliability-focused innovation solution projects from end-to-end.
- Developing the necessary processes, tools, metrics and engagement to ensure efficient and effective program execution and outcome
- Carrying out datacenter critical environment system level reliability risk analysis (e.g., FMMEA, FTA) and drive risk-informed decisions and actions with an end-to-end closed-loop process
- Driving in-depth and relevant data mining and developing holistic infrastructure health monitoring solutions in partnership with internal/external partners
- Analyzing and driving reduction of quality and reliability related maintenance events
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in EE/ME, Reliability Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in engineering (Quality & Reliability) and program management for datacenter power and mechanical infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience and skills with infrastructure health monitoring approaches and best practices, especially in the context of datacenter power and cooling.
- 10 years of experience in engineering and management of complex project in the context of cloud computing critical environment infrastructure system and technology.
- Experience and skills with critical environment equipment lifecycle risk identification and assessment.
- Experience and skills for continuous improvement in the context of quality and reliability for critical infrastructures
- Self-driven and excellent interpersonal, communication and cross group skills
- Experience in leading and collaborating with internal/external cross-functional teams and partners.
