Job Summary
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and enhancing test plans, test scripts, test methodologies and training materials to ensure both exhaustive testing is conducted, and general knowledge is delivered to internal and external customers for multiple national distributed software systems. This position is also responsible for supporting internal and external customer testing.
Principal Accountabilities
- Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
- Lead the efforts of one to two Quality Assurance Analysts when complex testing assignments require the efforts of a testing team.
- Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
- Develop new and enhance existing test plans and build test cases to use in testing complex problems or to address specific user requirements.
- Plan, develop and execute regression testing scenarios.
- Determine testing methodologies to be applied to testing efforts.
- Develop and utilize automated testing solutions and debugging tools to ensure that testing needs are satisfied.
- Troubleshoot problems and document results.
- Collaborate with Application Development personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
- Deliver efficient and effective support, training, training materials, and documentation to end users.
- Provide weekend testing support for applications in rotation with other members of the department, as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business or Technology and a minimum of 3-5 years of job-related experience.
- Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
- Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical skills are essential.
- Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
- Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate positive working relationships.
