Senior QA Engineer

ABOUT THE SENIOR ENGINEER IN TEST ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
The Knot Worldwide is looking for a highly motivated Senior Engineer in Test to join the QA Platform Team that will have hands-on responsibilities for developing and maintaining our test automation and tooling, working across teams to mentor other QA Engineers, and design, develop, and implement frameworks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that features are high-quality by building test strategies, writing and executing test plans, and communicating with the team about issues, risk, and product quality.
- Leverage skills and experience to develop automated tests to ensure product quality.
- Manually test new features and bug fixes before incorporating them into automated test suites (if needed)
- Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the QA process.
- Partner with other automation engineers in test to promote best practices surrounding TDD, continuous integration, code standards, etc.
SUCCESSFUL SENIOR ENGINEERS IN TEST HAVE:
- Expert knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Hands on experience writing automated tests for user interfaces.
- Experience writing automated tests for backend services - API testing using Postman or Supertest.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Coding experience using Javascript or Typescript.
- Familiarity with Github or similar. Also familiar with Jenkins or similar.
- Experience with modern UI test frameworks like Cypress or TestCafe.
- The ability to perform constructive Pull Request reviews and follow the best practices for test automation.
- Experience using Node.js or similar technology.
- Experience leading teams and projects in an Agile, TDD environment.
- And as a plus:
- Familiarity with React
- Familiarity with AWS/Kubernetes/Docker concepts and technology
- Mobile testing experience
- Experience designing and developing load tests to measure application performance
- Experience with Usability, Accessibility testing and Visual testing.
