What You’ll Be Doing
- The successful candidate will serve as the senior program advisor to the Principle Director, Environmental Remote Sensing within Aerospace's Civil Space Program Operations Division.
- In this role, the candidate will serve as a strategic planner and program/project management advisor.
- The position is open for any corporate office or remote, virtual work.
- Some domestic travel may be required.
Provide expert advice and assistance to support the design, development, and acquisition of NOAA NESDIS space-based capabilities as well as ground-based data systems
Support select customer activities as expert reviews and advice/assistance to acquisition related activities such as source selection
Develop and help execute NOAA senior executive engagement strategy
Help the ERS Directorate mature its project management practices to improve the quality, rigor and timeliness of contract execution activities
Support program development activities of the Civil Space Program Operations Division
Support corporate strategic planning at the Directorate, Division and Group levels within the Civil Systems Group
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in engineering, physical science or related field
A minimum of 15 years of relevant program management and technical experience in the space development domain
Knowledge of core space technologies including satellite busses, environmental remote sensing instruments, launch vehicles and ground data processing
Demonstrated experience and verifiable, externally recognized expertise in space and ground system architecture planning, operations concept definition, strategic planning, financial analysis, risk management, contracting and acquisition program management.
A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in the NOAA NESDIS and NASA Goddard/NASA Headquarters environments as a civil servant and/or FFRDC contractor
Experience and successful track record working directly with senior government executives a the SES/SIS and/or flag officer level
