SENIOR PRIVATE CLOUD/ENTERPRISE INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER
Primary Duties
Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure including vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN components. Support planning and implementation for software upgrades of the virtualization infrastructure. Manage and maintain systems supporting containerized applications including Kubernetes and Docker. Coordinate with system / network administrators to deploy Battlespace capabilities on STIG-compliant Windows and RHEL Operating Systems. Ensure valid Dell Avamar backups are created daily and verify the ability to restore. Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving VMware infrastructure issues. Maintain configuration of Active Directory group policy, DNS, DHCP, and NTP. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Participate in special projects as required.
Education, Experience, and Clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline with at least 5-8 years of demonstrated experience integrating, securing, and managing systems in large, distributed Enterprise environments. Knowledge of secure systems principals i.e., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Information Systems and Organizations in support of system accreditation under RMF. Three to five (3-5) years working with network, server, storage, and GPU virtualization technologies. Experience with scripting languages (i.e. PowerShell, PowerCLI, JSON, Bash, and Python). Industry recognized certification(s) in related technologies such as Security, Microsoft, VMware, Linux etc. SECRET security clearance required,
TS/SCI highly desirable (or ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance with SCI).
Security+ (IAT Level II) certification required,
The Sr. Private Cloud/Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer shall maintain certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M continuing education program (CPE) through the Period of Performance of the contract.
The Systems Security Engineer shall maintain certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M continuing education program (CPE) through the Period of Performance of the contract.
Additional Skills and Abilities
Five to eight (5-8) years of demonstrated experience managing Enterprise services including but not limited to Active Directory (AD), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and Domain Name System (DNS) in distributed environments. Three to five (3-5) years working with VMware network, server, storage, VDI, and GPU virtualization technologies. Three to five (3-5) years of demonstrated experience performing assessments of systems and implementing risk mitigations as defined in NIST SP 800-53 and maintaining Information Assurance (IA) artifacts in support of ongoing system accreditation under RMF. Two plus (2+) years of demonstrated experience managing and administering Docker and/or Kubernetes containerized applications in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline environment. Two plus (2+) years of demonstrated experience managing and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems in a mixed Microsoft/Linux environment. Two plus (2+) years of demonstrated experience managing and administering Splunk data analytics platforms in support of system performance evaluation, network operations, and security.
