Senior Principal Engineer, Datacenter Networks

Your role in helping us shape the future:
Join an innovative team that is responsible for transforming the customer experience by creating and bringing to market new products and services based upon globalized connectivity without boundaries. As a Sr. Principal Engineer, Datacenter Networks, you will support the development of Intelsat's private datacenter architecture and design.
Are you up to the challenge?

  • Support design and evolution of the datacenter IP fabric
  • Develop & test datacenter connectivity solutions
  • Support network requirements for VNFs, PNFs, and cNFs
  • Support datacenter network monitoring tools development
  • Support connectivity for orchestration tools within the datacenter
  • Contribute toward execution of the technology roadmap
  • Support evolution of next-gen datacenters
  • Support the Lead Architect for Network Infrastructure & Services


You should definitely have:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or equivalent experience
  • At least 10-years of relevant experience with network engineering/architecture to include experience with Datacenter Network and WAN design, with subject matter expertise in these areas.
  • Deep knowledge of datacenter fabric architectures and design to support private/hybrid cloud tenancies. Experience implementing interconnects with public cloud providers.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, build consensus, and achieve project schedules.
  • Technical expertise in networking technologies: LAN, WAN, IP, OSPF/ISIS, BGP, MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, 802.1Q, 802.1AD, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, influence stakeholders and garner their support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).


It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience working with Standards Definition Organizations
  • Technical expertise with technologies: Linux, CentOS, VMWare, KVM, JSON, REST, YANG, NetConf, RestConf, OSI model, Ethernet, IP, UDP/TCP
