Your role in helping us shape the future:
Join an innovative team that is responsible for transforming the customer experience by creating and bringing to market new products and services based upon globalized connectivity without boundaries. As a Sr. Principal Engineer, Datacenter Networks, you will support the development of Intelsat's private datacenter architecture and design.
Are you up to the challenge?

Support design and evolution of the datacenter IP fabric
Develop & test datacenter connectivity solutions
Support network requirements for VNFs, PNFs, and cNFs
Support datacenter network monitoring tools development
Support connectivity for orchestration tools within the datacenter
Contribute toward execution of the technology roadmap
Support evolution of next-gen datacenters
Support the Lead Architect for Network Infrastructure & Services

You should definitely have:

A bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or equivalent experience
At least 10-years of relevant experience with network engineering/architecture to include experience with Datacenter Network and WAN design, with subject matter expertise in these areas.
Deep knowledge of datacenter fabric architectures and design to support private/hybrid cloud tenancies. Experience implementing interconnects with public cloud providers.
Ability to solve complex problems, build consensus, and achieve project schedules.
Technical expertise in networking technologies: LAN, WAN, IP, OSPF/ISIS, BGP, MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, 802.1Q, 802.1AD, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, influence stakeholders and garner their support
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

It would be nice if you had:

Experience working with Standards Definition Organizations
Technical expertise with technologies: Linux, CentOS, VMWare, KVM, JSON, REST, YANG, NetConf, RestConf, OSI model, Ethernet, IP, UDP/TCP

At Intelsat, she has found herself in an environment encouraging her growth. “My manager has been supportive of me and the aspirations that I have for myself,” Schmidt said. For Schmidt — who is working on projects like equipping Alaskan Airlines’ Boeing B737-8 aircraft with a 2KU antenna system — those aspirations include her current pursuit of a master’s degree from Boston University, an endeavor for which Schmidt said she has received “amazing” support from Intelsat.

I am always wanting a challenge. I have been lucky to have a manager that is willing to give me projects that challenge me and make me a better project engineer.

Sandeep Munagala

Principal Developer, Business Intelligence

Paint the Big Picture

Employ technology to achieve excellence

As principal business intelligence developer, Sandeep Munagala leverages tools like Tableau to manage enterprise reporting and dashboards in important areas of Intelsat like commercial aviation. Taking a strategic approach to business intelligence has been instrumental for projects like equipping Intelsat’s quality organization with a “scorecard” of insightful and relevant metrics on their vendors and suppliers. “This information helps users and the organization evaluate vendor and supplier performance and drive more meaningful conversations on efficiency and improvement,” Munagala said.

We have a number of key initiatives underway to improve the inflight customer experience and Tableau has helped us uncover areas of opportunity in how passengers use our services.
