About the Role
As a Senior Power Engineer, you will become a part of the Uber Metal Hardware Engineering team which is creating the latest hardware solutions to support Uber Infrastructure's compute, storage and machine learning needs. You will be involved in helping architect, develop and qualify power solutions for hardware platforms to improve performance, cost, reliability and efficiency at the server, Rack and datacenter level.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with multiple server Platform teams to create and support state of the art power solutions and delivery for numerous parallel program developments.• Work with Rack level development programs to develop and support leading edge power delivery and conversion solutions at the rack to server level.• Be a power subject matter expert to internal and external teams to resolve issues in development and production.• Work with Data Center Engineering and management to support/suggest infrastructure changes and improvements for power delivery.• Position requires ability to create specifications, and ability to test and support testing of all solutions in all stages of development.• Collaborate and guide ODM/OEM partners on power design specifications and qualification procedure, review their design and test reports.
- What the Candidate You'll Do ----

---- Basic Qualifications ----
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.• 7+ years combined experience in power system design and development involving AC-DC Power Supply, DC-DC power converters.
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
• 10+ years of experience in the server, networking or storage industry with analog power electronics, power supply circuitry, and circuit protection design. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving power supply or power delivery issues.• Knowledge of data center power infrastructure and delivery.• Knowledge of communications protocol used in PSU: I2C/PMbus, ModBus.• Knowledge of VRD/VRM solutions for x86 server CPUs is a plus.• Ability to independently create specifications and requirements.• Ability to instrument and test power supplies and converters in the lab including use of oscilloscopes, power meters, electronic loads, DMM's and electronic sources.• Familiarity with EMI, Safety, and general agency requirements.• Familiarity and ability to use power simulation programs and simulate power circuits.• Familiarity with PCB layout design for low loss and low noise power conversion and analyze and review PCB layout from a power perspective.• Familiarity with Power Integrity simulation tools to analyze PCB level power distribution is a plus.
