Job summary
The Red Hat Southeast U.S. Technical Field Sales team is looking for a Senior OpenShift Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for increasing technical wins in named Global 2000 Enterprise accounts in the Southeast U.S. You'll have a critical role in a sales team, helping to develop and then deliver sales strategies from a technical perspective. You'll help lead technical evaluations at our customers throughout the entire customer journey. You'll work directly with Red Hat's customers, understanding their business priorities and related cloud and infrastructure needs. Through discovery conversations, presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concepts (PoC), you will qualify opportunities, helping customers verify Red Hat's solutions fit and value. Your success as a Senior OpenShift Specialist Solutions Architect will require a mix of technical, enterprise sales, and solutions adoption expertise with excellent people and communication skills. Primary job responsibilities
- Provide technical credibility in the area of hybrid cloud platforms and tools for the sales team
- Assist in building technical sales and adoption plans for named account customers
- Converse with customers to build great relationships and to uncover their priorities, needs, and requirements
- Identify appropriate Red Hat's technologies and offerings to solve customer problems
- Deliver presentations and demonstrations to diverse audiences spanning basic overview, technical overview, and deep dive explorations
- Lead PoCs and help scope, design, and deliver PoC engagements; help define PoC success metrics and capture results
- Ensure that knowledge is transferred to the customers regarding the solutions, their fit, and the value they deliver as proven in the PoC
- Help identify and coordinate the efforts of experts from across Red Hat, including from the product business, marketing, consulting, and alliances teams, when delivering through each sales cycle
- Form relationships with technical customer associates to guide, build trust, and identify new opportunities
- Help prioritize and manage technical sales efforts across a portfolio of deals that span several territories, accounts, and account executives and have different probabilities of closing
Required skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or an equivalent experience
- Experience working as a field presales engineer selling Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or other cloud-based enterprise solutions to Global 2000 Enterprise companies
- Ability and initiative to research and learn new technologies, to assimilate new information and understand complex topics, and to pass on new knowledge
- Ability to share concepts and present to non-technical buyers, simplifying the technical message and relating it back to value for the business
- Willingness to learn, deliver, and customize Kubernetes-based demonstrations
- Solid debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Linux containers and container clustering technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Rocket, and Open Container Project
- Direct experience with application build automation processes and tools like continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), Apache Maven, Jenkins, Tekton, and Git
- Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good written and verbal communication and social skills for presenting to internal and external audiences
- Willingness to travel up to 60%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
