The Red Hat North America (NA) Financial Services Sales team is looking for a Senior OpenShift Application Solutions Architect to join our OpenShift adoption practice. In this role, you will use your expertise in containers, application deployment on containers, and DevOps technologies to help Red Hat's customers derive business value from their Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments. You'll work with our customers to recognize their current and desired state of container adoption and help them realize business value. You'll need to have deep technical expertise, passion for open source, thorough understanding of containerization and application deployment concerns, and a record of delivering business solutions at the enterprise level. As a Senior OpenShift Application Solutions Architect, you will specialize in Red Hat's container technologies and cloud-native application deployment on public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Help customers evolve from thinking about Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as infrastructure to thinking of its business value
  • Help customers deploy application workloads on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform to enhance business value
  • Grow adoption and consumption of Red Hat OpenShift commensurate with customer metrics
  • Gain and develop an understanding of customer current state architectures, key metrics, application workloads, development environments, and lines-of-business concerns
  • Become a virtual Red Hat member of the customer teams, enabling and mentoring customers in the development and deployment of applications on Red Hat OpenShift
  • Work with customers to survey their application portfolio to identify candidate workloads for deployment on Red Hat OpenShift
  • Work with customers to identify the roadblocks to Red Hat OpenShift adoption and work with the broader Red Hat's teams to remove these roadblocks
  • Deliver and lead customer events for onboarding and enablement to Red Hat OpenShift as an application platform to enable customer success
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities in these engagements for customer success
  • Run workshops and demos, guide customers on best practices, and establish communities of practice and excellence at customer sites


What you will bring

  • Extensive knowledge of application runtimes, enterprise container architectures and solutions, Red Hat OpenShift or competing technologies, Linux, and deploying and running container solutions in private, public, and hybrid clouds
  • Very good understanding of DevOps processes, maturity models, and corresponding deep knowledge of toolsets for continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud-native application development and deployment
  • Ability to have conversations at multiple levels of customer organizations, including DevOps, architects, developers, and infrastructure
  • Experience with a digital transformation effort as part of consulting, sales, or in-house IT
  • Experience configuring and consuming modern application delivery tools in development and deployment of applications to production
  • Experience instrumenting, collecting, and radiating development and operational metrics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines


The following are considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and competitive solutions, Linux, and deploying and running container solutions in private, public, and hybrid clouds
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise application architecture; development skills
  • Experience with microservices frameworks, service mesh, and API management
  • Experience working in a sales or customer-facing role
  • Experience with Java development technologies like Spring Boot, WildFly Swarm, or JEE, including Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), WildFly, Oracle WebLogic, or IBM WebSphere
  • Familiarity with Java development frameworks like Spring, Netflix OSS, Eclipse Vert.x, and other technologies like Node.js, Ruby, PHP, Go, or .NET development
