Job Description
You

As a Senior .NET Developer at Octo, you will work in an agile environment to create new and improve existing .NET applications utilizing ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server Database. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing the application while working closely with Government stakeholders and users to enhance current business processes. Knowledge of SharePoint applications and environments will prove beneficial as the .NET applications are closely coupled with existing SharePoint applications.

Skills & Requirements
Requirements
  • Provides technical leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
  • Ability to design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software applications in accordance with client-specified coding standards and practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production defects of existing software applications
  • Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements
  • Ability to address complex issues involving systems integration and compatibility, as well as cross-browser compatibility of applications
  • Ability to perform feasibility analysis on potential future application projects and present findings to stakeholders and project management
  • Ability to assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools

Desired Skills
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies including SAFe and Scrum
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying Custom WSP SharePoint applications using SharePoint 2016/2019, SharePoint Online
  • Knowledge of SharePoint "out-of-the-box" features such as creating subsites, document management, forms, workflows, etc.
  • Experience creating and modifying SharePoint design with master pages, page layouts, CSS, & SharePoint Designer
  • Experience deploying custom Web Parts, Features, Style Sheets, Site definitions using Visual Studio
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platforms, including IaaS, PaaS, and designing and migrating on-premises applications to Azure cloud
  • Experience conducting functional, unit, user acceptance, and Section 508 testing
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences

Years of Experience : 6+ years of software development experience in a Microsoft .NET framework including ASP.NET, Web Forms, MVC, Entity Framework, Telerik, C#, C++, Highcharts, MS SQL Server, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XML, AJAX, Objective C, PowerShell, SharePoint SDK, Selenium

Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or 6-12 years of related experience

Location: Washington, DC

Clearance: Able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance for this government position. Active Secret preferred.
