Experience in the following Technologies:
NodeJS, Lua, Go, Kafka, Cassandra, Python, thrift, Scribe, Apache Flume, Java, HAProxy, Apache HTTP Server, Bash, Ubuntu, Chef, Docker
 
 
Must have:
· +5 years of experience designing and maintaining a multi-tenant monitoring system.
- Experiences in the following areas:
o Writing cohesive, scalable, and interoperable web services in NodeJS
o Ensuring global redundancy
o Writing a monitoring agent in Lua
o Writing a custom monitoring poller in Go
o Processing millions of data per minute
 
· +2 years of advanced software development and problem-solving in complex systems
- Ability to do the following:
o Examine unfamiliar code, understand its purpose, and propose improvements to it
o Ability to read a user bug report and deduce its root cause
o Can track down a bug that only appears when multiple, independent services are collaborating in production.
o Proven technical leadership and desire to grow into a senior role
o Proven record with creative solutions and socialize them inside and outside your team.
o Ability to convey your ideas to multiple audiences (your peers, your leaders, security experts, business owners, etc.)
o Have written a technical blog post
o Have given technical talks at internal or external conferences or meetups
 
· +2 Experience in Linux OS fundamentals
o Ability to know what is running on an existing server
o Administering systems remotely.
 
· +2 Networking basics
o Basics of hardware and software firewalls and load balancers
o Analyzing/troubleshooting network traffic with iptables, netstat, tcpdump, wireshark,
o How to design and maintain a multi-tenant monitoring system
 
· Hands on experience with Kafka and Cassandra db.
 
· Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles
 
· Own production health
o  Experience with developing software that can be monitored in production.
o Ability and experience to interpret production telemetry and recommend changes before a bad trend becomes a critical issue
o Analyze a production issue and write automated tests so that the issue won't recur.
 
· Have done peer reviews are and how to do them effectively
 
Nice to have:
· Experience how to process time series data at scale. Processing millions of data points per second. Predicting and avoiding bottlenecks and single points of failure
· Experience with CI/CD pipeline and how to design one
· Test-driven development experience and how to employ it

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on benefits offered is here.
