Senior Mechanical Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional to join our team, someone with experience in developing complex medical device systems. This person should enjoy owning a portion of the robotic system and driving all aspects of development, including design controls. This position will be located in our internal robotics team which focuses on robotic arms, camera, and instruments.
Overall, you'll be tasked with solving problems that require engineering mastery as well as creativity. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to play with really cool robots!
Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of product development, including: user need and requirements definition, concept generation, detailed design, clinical simulation, manufacturing process development, assembly, integration, and verification and validation testing)
- Understand, analyze, and suggest new design improvements to existing technology
- Develop, conduct, and report on tests to de-risk your designs
- Work with internal machine shop and suppliers to produce prototypes and finished good parts
- Develop comprehensive verification and validation protocols

About You
- 8+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
- 4+ years of medical device Product Development experience
- Solid understanding of medical device design control process
- Solid modeling proficiency (Solidworks, FEA)
- Proven strength in mechanical design and analysis
- Very strong understanding of the interplay between various components of a complex electromechanical system
- Understanding of V&V techniques to advance prototype designs to finished products
- Experienced in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Inspection (DFI) and various assembly techniques
- Ability to produce engineering drawings with robust dimensioning, GD&T and tolerance analyses
- Experience work directly with vendors and manufacturers
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
