Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Technology Development will enjoy finding solutions to hard problems, possess a strong sense of delivery, will have demonstrated experience writing software and leading small to large projects and will have a well-rounded technical background in software development. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done - including writing some code. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and implement technical solutions to new business challenges.
• Define work across multiple product areas and engage engineering teams to deliver it.
• Define and develop (code) small proof of concept project using varying technologies.
• Use your technical expertise to guide teams to creatively meet short-term and long-term business objectives, being strategic and tactical or operational as needed.
• Create clarity and drive alignment while building a healthy, positive, passionate, and inclusive culture.
• Drive technical excellence within the team, coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including architectural diagrams, specifications, launch criteria, and test plans.
• Engage, evaluate, and on-board potential vendors to fulfill business requirements.
• Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
• Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
• Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
• Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
• Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
• Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

• Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
• Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or field as outlined in the essential duties; or Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experiences as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of experience being a hands-on developer.
• 10+ years of information technology experience or with increasing levels of responsibility for delivering transformative technology solutions and business capabilities
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and software engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding and experiences in adopting Agile practices with Development Teams.
• Experience delivering innovative technology solutions or business capabilities in the life sciences or pharma industries.
• Strong service delivery experience including architecture and ideally building cloud services.
