As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering within the Advanced Technology Collaborative team, you'll be a hands-on leader for a team of engineers in the US that are tasked with solving some of the most difficult problems in healthcare today. Our teams are currently working with the latest engineering technologies, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and cloud technologies. Your time will be split between hands-on engineering, personnel management, and development of your team.
This is an ideal position for someone who has software leadership experience within a data-driven environment where you are comfortable working with AI/ML/DL/NLP, data products, and data analytics solutions.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Hands-on engineering leadership
• Research and develop novel AI solutions independently and as part of a team
• Produce high quality solutions that are robust, reliable, and scalable
• Approach uncertain and ambiguous problems with curiosity and a positive attitude
• Utilize data from disparate data sources and formats in order to support solution features
• Mentor and lead a diverse team across multiple locations in the USA and abroad
• Own engineering best practices and your team's adherence to them
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of deliverables to stakeholders
• Work with the team on solutioning, design, and architecture
• Provide technical guidance and ask questions of solutions when and where needed
• Participate daily in code reviews
• Work with the engineers to understand their career goals and aspirations
• Address performance or other concerns with engineers with constructive and timely feedback
• Own the agile process for your team

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience leading engineering teams as a manager or tech lead
• 2+ years of creating and delivering end-to-end AI/ML/DL/NLP solutions to production
• 2+ years hands-on experience with engineering excellence concepts, CI/CD, devops, and delivering software into production
• 2+ years experience in designing and building cloud native solutions
• 1+ years experience with having direct reports
• 1+ years working within a data heavy environment (working with large databases, warehouses, data structures etc...)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare and/or health insurance
• Experience working on an applied research or R&D team
