As Senior Manager, Platform Engineering, you will provide thought leadership, strategic planning, operational excellence and a high level of accountability in developing and leading the Platform Engineering Team. Develop and continue to enhance the abilities of the Platform Engineering and DevOps Teams in the delivery of technology via repeatable and automated techniques. Work closely with Product Owners, Product Teams, Solution Owners, Site Reliability Engineers, and Solution Architects to deliver everything as code.
What You'll Get to Do:
- Design and implementation of Platform Engineering functions, processes, and procedures. Establish a vision for the Platform Engineering Team that focuses on repeatable functions, automation, and everything as code.
- Partner with Product Owners, Product Teams, Solution Owners, Site Reliability Engineers, and Solution Architects to analyze the business needs and improve supportability, scalability and recovery for the engineered solution. Review resource consumption for the engineered solution. Ensure that the overall technical solution is aligned with the business needs.
- Partner with Site Reliability Engineers to implement improvements into the environment which will improve the reliability, supportability, scalability, recoverability, and cost of ARC's technology solutions.
- Partner with Operations Engineering to improve the skills of the Operations Engineering Team and implement solutions which improve the way ARC's technology solutions are managed and supported.
- Stay current with the latest technologies and techniques. Continually evaluate the landscape for ways to leverage the latest technologies and techniques to improve the reliability, supportability, scalability, recoverability, and cost.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field; or additional years of experience
- 5+ years of systems administration role
- 3+ years of experience implementing modern applications using:
- Cloud Based Solutions/Technologies (AWS, Google, Azure)
- Account and resource management coupled with cloud accounting methodologies
- Implementation of infrastructure as code
- DevOps tools including, but not limited to, Terraform/Cloud formation, Jenkins pipeline, GIT, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Sonar, Nexus, and Salt
- Ability to lead multiple resources through triage events and communication after action reports and groups through an operational improvements that reduce mean time to resolution
- Experience leading technical teams to mentor and guide multiple-disciplined technical teams
- Ability to discover and define non-functional requirements and to transform them into technical requirements and solution definition
- Proven ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups to support an agile development culture
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management, including communicating technical information to nontechnical audiences
