About the job
The Red Hat Infrastructure team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead its Platform team remotely in the U.S. In this role, you will be accountable for the building and maintaining of the shared compute and storage resources that are provided to Products and Technologies (PnT) across the four hybrid-cloud footprints and for overseeing full-spectrum technical support of all resources within the PnT labs and datacenters. You will be part of the team, which maintains the Red Hat technology stack within its hosted PnT Shared Infrastructure (PSI) environment with the focus of delivering customer zero value for Red Hat. Your team will operate and manage the proving ground for Red Hat products and enable rapid bug fix identification as they're discovered in PSI, working closely with Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) and Research and Development (R&D) teams to improve our Red Hat Hybrid Cloud offerings stack. As a Senior Manager, you'll work with your global team and leadership across PnT to rapidly address Red Hat offerings bugs, resolve support team challenges, and implement new PSI environments that satisfy user stability requirements and customer zero objectives. What you will do

  • Lead team initiatives and promote outcomes by working with your team of direct reports, consisting of global managers, product owners, program managers, and technical leads
  • Exhibit excellent leadership in all areas within the Platform team including owning accountability for all Platform team outcomes and holding Platform team members accountable for their performance
  • Work closely with other Engineering team leadership, support teams, and business unit representatives to further improve the Red Hat offerings stack and align with the customer zero objectives
  • Work directly with the infrastructure pillar leader, leadership peers, architect, and program manager to align team outcomes with the overall pillar strategy
  • Ensure that resource allocation is always optimized across highest priority tasks for the team
  • Ensure that everyone within the team complies with all service level agreement (SLA), monitoring, and security standards set for the infrastructure pillar
  • Improve operational responsiveness to our end users


What you will bring

  • Knowledge of and experience with current industry best practices and processes for running optimized IT service operations and service delivery to users
  • Knowledge and experience with Red Hat's offerings stack and private cloud hosting
  • Knowledge of datacenter operations and hardware support requirements
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships and work toward outcomes that best meet the strategic needs of the business
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams and successfully meeting business outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with an emphasis on building effective working relationships
  • Adaptability to a changing environment and ability to use appropriate communication styles
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to gain buy or acceptance in regards to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
