As a Senior Lead Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Core Engineering Team, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality data architecture solutions for various software applications and platform products. Drive significant business impact and help shape the global target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple data architecture domains.
Job responsibilities

  • Represents the data architecture team at technical governance bodies and provides feedback regarding proposed improvements regarding data architecture governance practices
  • Evaluates new and current technologies using existing data architecture standards and frameworks
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives data architecture decisions that impact product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide data frameworks, tools, and practices in the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Advises junior architects and technologists
  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
  • Participates in architecture governance bodies
  • Evaluates recommendations and provides feedback on new technologies
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming languages, applications, and architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, andAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Solid background in web UI (React) and mobile application architecture, analytics, data management, and ML.
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more software, applications, and architecture disciplines
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of development or technical architecture experience with demonstrated increases in responsibility
  • Knowledge of major public cloud platforms, ideally with current solutions architecture certification in at least two (preferably AWS with certification).
  • Multiple experiences defining and driving target state architectures.
  • Minimum of 7 years using industry-standard architecture methodologies (Domain Driven Design, TOGAF, UML, etc.)
