Senior iOS Engineer

 Hippo is a hyper-growth company that is taking the market by storm. Our technology first approach is modernizing the otherwise stale home insurance industry, from IOT monitoring devices to our industry leading software. Led by a strong team of passionate business and technology veterans, we're rapidly expanding by inviting great engineers to join our talented, close knit team here in the Bay Area.  

We're looking for a talented Senior iOS engineer to help shape the mobile experience as we expand across the United States. An ideal candidate brings strong thought leadership, maturity and a deep passion for and understanding of how to build great software.

 Responsibilities: 

• Work with a small, cross functional team to build and iterate on our customer facing iOS app

•  Build experiences that demystify the insurance buying and maintenance process

• Help create a world-class mobile development process, applying and adapting known best practices

• Mentor junior engineers

 Required Qualifications: 

• 5+ years professional experience as a mobile engineer

• A deep familiarity with Swift and Cocoa Touch

• Experience publishing apps on the App store

• Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS best practices (MVVM + MVC)

• Comfortable using RESTful APIs to integrate back-end services

• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines

• Proven troubleshooting, deployment and application performance tuning experience

• An appreciation for customer-centric solutions where success is defined by business impact

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field

 Nice to Have: 

• Experience integrating with GraphQL APIs is a plus

• Experience with React, Nest.js, Typescript

• A strong ability to design data models based on business domain use cases
