Senior iOS Engineer at Grindr (Chicago, IL)
This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago office and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What’s the Job?
- Using Swift, XCode, RxSwift, Bitrise, Fastlane, Jenkins, and Github, you will be evolving and maintaining the software architecture for current and future needs in order to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing mobile products, while supporting the product roadmap
- Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing elegant mobile solutions
- Working collaboratively with a brilliant cross-functional team to make Grindr the best app it can be for its users
- Working directly with quality engineers to identify test cases and devise efficient, scalable testing processes to allow us to run bi-weekly releases
- Owning projects and deeply understanding the why behind them
- Mentoring other engineers and fostering career growth
- Collaborating effectively across our engineering teams in North America and Taipei
What We’ll Love About You
- You have a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- You have at least 4 years of experience building iOS applications, primarily in Swift
- You have experience with large iOS codebases and complex, high-performance apps
- Strong practical knowledge of software engineering best practices and design patterns such as MVVM, Coordinator, one-way data flow, and modular architecture
- You have experience with iOS app performance optimization & metrics
- You’re a strong problem solver and a fast learner
- You’re compassionate, collaborative, and deeply care for the people around you
- You’re passionate about top-quality code and using the latest best practices
- You’re mission-driven
- You build software with your users and their needs as your priority
- You enjoy shipping products, measuring value to users, and iterating
We’ll Really Swoon if You have
- Professional Experience with RxSwift or any functional reactive programming framework.
- Professional Experience with Coordinators and/or RxFlow
- Experience with Architecture at scale

Location: We are looking to hire someone in the Chicago area.
Grindr is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base pay for this role is between min $135,000 and max $190,000 This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
