Credit Karma's growing IT team is looking for an Sr. Infrastructure Engineer. As this team is growing and starting to scale, it is time to review our area of responsibility and take it to the next level. This includes automation(python, Go, Bash) of daily tasks and other areas with opportunity, revisioning our infrastructure converting our virtual machines into containerized deployments and since we are security focused, someone who has a passion for security first State of Mind. Our ideal candidate is passionate about providing the best customer service and end user experience possible, driving client config best practices within the team and constantly finding ways to improve end-user experience and IT efficiency through automation.

What You'll Do:

  • Write tools to automate the management of the services we support
  • Be part of a on call rotation that includes one week of being primary and one week of being backup
  • Leverage industry tools to design, deliver and support enterprise IT client management capabilities, including: client platform standards and performance, software packaging and distribution, patching and configuration, scripting, remote management and threat remediation
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency and scale services leveraging tools and automation.
  • Handle technical escalations, provide timely resolution of problems or engage lead staff for assistance
  • Participate in on-boarding, training and mentoring team members
  • Drive quality and adherence to best practices within the team
  • Test and evaluate changes and perform deployments during change windows.
  • Follow proper change management and problem management procedures.
  • Automate security controls using scripting
  • Perform structured security risk assessment to identify, prioritize, and provide recommendations or solutions for issues found
  • Maintain and improve the security bar of the Credit Karma corporate infrastructure


Must have Tech Skills:

  • 5+ years of Linux experience
  • 3+ years of Cloud experience, preferably in GCP
  • Scripting experience (Bash, Python)
  • 5+ years experience in a client engineer/infrastructure role supporting 2k plus users in remote location in different geographies



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high security and/or highly regulated industry - we are both, and have to work to build highly constrained architectures that are as painless as possible, while remaining highly transparent for ease of compliance and audit
  • Experience with containers is a plus
  • Understanding of IAM, Okta and AD
