Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it's necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
We are searching for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Compass team in the US. We're building a new product, Compass, that will be the mission control for engineering teams. This is a really exciting opportunity to have a huge impact on one of the big bets coming out of Atlassian's Point A program (New Product Framework). This team is working on key parts of the Compass Ecosystem through leveraging the new Forge platform, which allows for first and third-party integrations across Compass.
As part of the Compass Ecosystem team, you will be responsible for leading and working on greenfield development efforts ranging across a number of problem spaces. The team is working on developing new features for customers to ingest data from third-party systems (think SCM tools like Github, monitoring tools like Datadog, and deployment tools like CircleCI), extend the UI to provide custom functionality, and modify our data model to allow teams to keep track of all of the important data they need to operate their services at scale. The team also develops and maintains an SDK to enable the full ecosystem of developers to build impactful integrations for Compass.
You will be working on complex Java-based code on the backend with UI components built with React and other Javascript technologies. Knowledge of Kotlin and Typescript will be very helpful. Experience with building and running services, also with experience with any of the public cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GAE, Azure) will be required.
You will be working closely with a team that's distributed throughout the US and collaborates frequently with partner teams based in Sydney.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
