System1 is hiring a Sr. Full-Stack Engineer to join our team. If you are familiar with developing multi-tenancy software as a service from scratch, this is the role for you!


To supplement our web browser, the browser team is looking for a passionate and experienced engineer to help design, build, and maintain our scalable, high availability accounts system. You will be deeply involved in the technical details of implementation, as well as collaborating with the product, design, and data analysis teams to determine the best way to expand our capabilities.

The web browser accounts system will ideally power many of the services we want to integrate. We are ambitious and enthusiastic, come join us!


Key goals for this role: Architect a user management system that allows users to use said account to login to various other services (with SSO); implement payment integration (such as Stripe, etc.).

The Role You Will Have

  • Architecting a robust user accounts system that lays the foundation for our services part of the business
  • Write clean, performant and standards compliant code
  • Review code from other team members (as well as get your own code reviewed)
  • Maintain effective unit tests and documentation
  • Participate in stand-ups, bug triages, retrospectives, and other team meetings
  • Make accurate estimates for upcoming work, communicate technical solutions effectively, and report progress

What You Will Bring

  • You enjoy building scalable and intuitive APIs
  • You possess a deep understanding of back-end web technologies like Node.js/JavaScript, Python/Django, AWS/GCP tooling, and MySQL/PostgreSQL (don’t need to know them all - various combos of either!)
  • You have at least 3 years developing and maintaining robust web products
  • You uphold standards for quality and performance by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating tests, and maintaining documentation


    • Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Experience integrating with payment gateways; International payments a plus
  • Experience scaling a platform to millions of users
  • Are comfortable working in a diverse community spanning many regions and time zones

Currently, he and the data science team are working on an algorithm to optimize System1’s advertising on a new network. Their custom-built machine learning infrastructure makes it easy to deploy new algorithms and track performance.
