As a Senior Frontend Engineer you will take a creative educational technology organization to the next level. We are excited by a passionate, qualified Senior Software Engineer with experience in modern frontend technologies. As a senior frontend engineer at Curriculum Associates, you will be part of a motivated team that builds dashboards and reports for educators to help them complete their jobs.

The impact you'll have:

  • You will be part of an expanding Ed-Tech company and will improve classrooms and students with your contributions to i-Ready, our award-winning K-12 educational software service.
  • You will develop code that provides rich experiences using HTML5, React, Redux, CSS, and modern JavaScript tools and frameworks.
  • You will work with several AWS services and backend services
  • You will work with your Agile development team members, product owners, and user experience designers to understand requirements and find solutions.
  • You will help build new solutions that solve challenging software issues.

Who we're looking for:

  • Experience serving as a team lead, educating, mentoring, and supporting other members of your team to achieve high-quality features partnering with Product Management and QA.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript, HTML5, React, and Redux
  • A passion for producing clear, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Experience writing unit tests with test frameworks like Jest and puppeteer to develop high-quality, well-tested solutions.
  • An understanding of data structures and algorithms and data modeling
  • 5+ years of working experience
  • Experience or knowledge of backend technology and frameworks, especially Java
  • Experience or knowledge of functional programming languages like Clojure, Elm, or Elixir
  • Experience with data modeling and design
  • Experience working in the world of open-source projects
  • Educational or Ed-Tech background

Location: You will be remote until we open our office in Greensboro, NC. This team uses CA's Flexible Work Approach, which enables employees on office based teams to work in-office 2 days/week and remotely 3 days/week. For employees who don't have the space or the desire to work remotely 3 days per week, CA also offers a 4+ days/week in-office option.
