Job Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to join a small but impactful team that is directly responsible for building a visually stunning, customer-first ecommerce experience on levityhome.com. As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Levity, you’ll work closely with our Director of Technology & Product Manager to define the website strategy, prioritize new site features and tests, plan and scope out frontend platform improvements, and maintain the health of our frontend code base. You will be responsible for making architecture decisions that ensure future scalability for our ever-evolving product pipeline and consistently growing business. As a leader on the Levity Tech team, you will be responsible for lifting the skills and expertise of junior engineers through direct mentorship and coaching.
What You’ll Do:
- Formulate quarterly tech road map and determine the long-term core product architecture
- Evaluate & define improvements to the existing infrastructure, performance, and user experience
- Lifts the skills and expertise of junior engineers through direct mentorship and coaching
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, and marketing
- Clearly understand how projects relate to business priorities and help reinforce that with the rest of the team
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- 5+ years experience in software engineering
- Previous experience as a strong Frontend Engineer (our current stack is React, GraphQL, Node, AWS, Shopify - Liquid, and Python)
- Experience leading teams to architect and develop applications from scratch
- Experience building and deploying CI/CD and ETL pipelines
- Experience developing applications on a team (e.g., code review, test automation)
- Experience with A/B Testing
Preferred:
- Experience with eCommerce and/or public-facing applications and how they plug into internal tools (Shopify preferred)
- Experience with building and maintaining traditional Shopify sites and experience working on Shopify Apps and Themes
- Experience optimizing web performance and understanding impacts to metrics
- Preferred location in Los Angeles, but open to remote
