Mission/Job Scope:

The Senior Front End Web Developer will play a critical role in delivering the online customer experience for Leslie's - ultimately driving sales (online and in-store) and conversion. The person in this role will be involved with design, development, testing, execution and maintenance of multiple sites including Leslie's flagship site as well as other direct to consumer sites and a B2B site. They will lead the QA of all development projects, while working closely with eCom team members on technical issues and complex problems. The person in this role will aid other Front End Developers in more complex projects. Projects can range from run the business tasks to building out experiences for large corporate initiatives.

This job is fast paced requires strong communication skills, leadership skills, attention to detail, respect for deadlines, creative imagination, and an ability to roll with and contribute to a disciplined-but-entrepreneurial work environment.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FISCAL YEAR

  1. Provide resourceful knowledge in the research and design stages of projects
  2. Manage, design and develop web solutions while working alongside business partners
  3. Use comprehensive knowledge of current web technologies and best practices to translate UI designs and workflows into working interactive applications and experiences.
  4. Flawless execution of site changes to support corporate initiatives
  5. Create new online experiences for our customers
  6. Implement A/B tests across multiple sites
  7. Ensure all sites meet accessibility standards
  8. Implement SEO best practices throughout our experiences
  9. Assist with scope development effort, provide reliable estimates and produce technical documentation requirements.
  10. Conduct QA on all site experiences, provide creative and landing page testing support, including logging bugs/issues, for site updates and ongoing quality assurance.
  11. Design and build variations for A/B testing
  12. Development, implementation and QA for 3rd party marketing and internal tracking codes in tag

    manager solutions (GTM)
  13. Implementation and front end development for content on the Leslie's App
  14. Work with other departments to define/refine project requirements.
  15. Provide technical assistance with response to errors, problems or questions regarding the ecommerce websites
  16. Making regular recommendations on how to advance the technical aspects of our sites, analyzing code, UX, UI and apps for structural integrity, and advancement
  17. Quickly respond to business needs
  18. Ability to work in a collaborative environment with multiple team members and departments
  19. Able to guide and mentor fellow front end developers

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated Front End Web Development experience
  • Highly experienced with Front End Development languages as HTML/HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • Highly experienced with jQuery, Git (or similar), and Bootstrap/Framework (or similar)
  • Expert knowledge of development and site architecture for an e-commerce website
  • Significant experience with CMS tools (i.e. Amplience, Wordpress)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe programs for design (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, XD)
  • Experience with development in eCommerce hosting sytems (i.e. Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
  • Experience with development in A/B testing tools (Google Optimize, Optimizely, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Coremetrics,)
  • Ability to multi-task; work both independently and in a team structure; have sound judgement and business acumen
  • Ability to technically document deliverable through use cases, design documents and technical specifications.
  • Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
  • Must have a strong ability to understand existing code base by efficient debugging, code analysis, and by asking the right questions.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence a ++
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Web Development/Design or an equivalent field
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment
